Personal Myths

words for humans who can see.

for a very interesting view on the war in iraq, i.e.: what KEN WILBER thinks, go here:

http://wilber.shambhala.com/html/misc/iraq.pdf

among other points i found most true:

1. if you are against war under all circumstances you are most certainly green. as he says, you can lay down in front of nazi tanks, but they ain't stoppin'.
2. if you did not protest BOTH american aggression AND iraqi brutailty, and i never saw one sign protesting saddam, you were a saddam enabler, since the implication in your stance was:

"america is wrong."
"goddammit, why dont you care about the iraqi people?"
"i do."
"where was your energy focused? what did you say about it publicly in your loudest voice?"

what you are willing to DO in large part shows what your values are. action reveals character. real simple example: you absolutely KNOW when your boyfriend/girlfriend is losing interest, because they have reasons/excuses why they dont do things for you instead of the unbelievably unreasonable lengths they USED to go to to see you for even 5 minutes! thats how you know, and if you protested america's involvement in iraq, but DIDNT concurrently protest hussein's regime, you are MORE against the US, plain and simple. otherwise you would have done both. THAT is the main problem i have with the "peace" movement. peace for us, not for the iraqi people, all in the name of higher consciousness and compassion...
